Marco Polo      Printable Version

Marco Polo sidewalk cafe opens in spring. It is a very nice place for a quick lunch.

Marco Polo is located in the heart of the city, at the beginning of Abovian Street, just 1-minute walk from the Republic Square. The restaurant is a perfect place for a lunch break among the tourists. Sit down, relax, watch the people on the Abovian Street, get some cold and Kotayk beer with green olives and lemon.

Restaurant Design - Good

The interior design of the restaurant is contemporary and has two levels. The street level is very narrow, but with very inviting atmosphere. The basement level is not as inviting and pretty standard. In summer, restaurant opens its sidewalk café, with glass, side panels. It is a perfect place to escape the summer heat and have some refreshments.

Service - Good

Service is good, but a little slow. The restaurant is open late and even at 12 am you will find people having food and beer.

Food and Drinks - Very Good

Marco Polo has great variety of appetizers. Our favorites were salami and assorted cheese, as well as summer salads. From their main courses we recommend to try Beef Stroganoff and mushroom dishes. They always have cold, draft Kotayk beer and great assortment of Armenian wines. We also enjoyed their desert drinks, chocolate cakes and very good espresso coffee.

Prices - Moderate $$$

Prices are moderate, dinner with appetizers, drinks and desert, will cost you around $12. Marco Polo's prices are very similar to Deauville or Caucasus Tavern.
