Nor Dzoraberd restaurant
is located in the largest building on Proshian Street.
Nor Dzoraberd, which means new
gorge-house in Armenian, is located in the beginning of Proshian Street.
As the name suggest, it is just on the cliff of Hrazdan Gorge. It is
actually a hotel and restaurant, but we will give you overview of the
restaurant only. Nor Dzoraberd is an impressive place with the great
design and excellent Armenian, traditional food. The restaurant perfectly
suited for the events and private parties.
Restaurant Design - Excellent
The restaurant has a unique design and it stands out among other restaurants
of Yerevan. We were quite impressed by the dining rooms designed in
primeval style with tables and chairs built from large logs and thick
hide. The clay potteries around the dining room also were in harmony
with the primeval theme.
Service - Average
The service in Nor Dzoraberd was average and the waiters were not responsive
and available. We did not understood weather the call button was not
working or they were just busy. The menu was worn out and not so clean.
Food and Drinks - Very Good
Nor Dzoraberd is the best for Armenian traditional food like a barbeque,
kebob and other ethnic dishes. From our order, the barbeque was very
good and appetizers were excellent. We recommend sticking with the traditional
dishes. The drinks were good and authentic, our favorite was chilled
Russian vodka.
Prices - Expensive $$$$
A complete dinner with appetizers and drinks will cost you around $20
in Nor Dzoraberd. Considering amount and quality of the food, the prices
of the most restaurants on Proshian Street are acceptable, including
Nor Dzoraberd.
